Tibetan Terriers originate from the Lost Valley of Tibet.
This Valley was so inaccessible that visitors were often given a dog to safeguard them on their journey.
These dogs were never sold, as the families did not want to tempt fate by selling their "luck."

Lapsang Tibetan Terriers are based in Lancashire, and owned by Jill & Dave. We started out many years ago when we got our first ever TT (Tibetan Terrier). Jill had always wanted a 'Freeway (shaggy) dog' and the T.T. was the nearest we could get. Charlie was adopted into the family and was a real character. He was admired so much that we just had to have another and Amber (Matsang Lady Amber) soon joined us.. and this is a story in itself...When we went to collect Amber from the breeder we spotted a shy, little black TT girl, hiding under a cupboard. We coaxed her out..this little scrap was so cute with her big brown eyes. All the experts say 'don't buy the shy one', but this little pup had so much appeal that we just had to take her.. and so we came away with Amber ... AND Holly (Matsang Lady Eostre with Lapsang)  :-)
Holly blossomed into a beautiful young bitch with so much character and energy. Talk about the ugly duckling into the swan...that was Holly! She was gorgeous, mischievous, cocky, gentle, loving, playful ... A friend suggested showing her and that's when our lives changed.

We started exhibiting in 1996. It wasn't easy trying to travel the country with young children, show paraphernalia and dogs, so we stayed local, and although we never reared a Champion we did do pretty well :-)

Jill went on to take courses in Canine Behavioural Management and has certificates in ShowCraft and Dog Grooming.

At least three of Holly's puppies went on to be show dogs in their own right (inc. Lapsang Storm Master). One one of them qualifying for Crufts (Lapsang Haunter), and others went into Theatre work as a 'dog actor' and one became a P.A.T dog.
Sadly Holly died after a short illness and is deeply missed.

Visit our Gallery to see loads of T.T. photo's and click on the links and photo's to read about the dogs.. Have fun.

I would like to say Hi.and thank you so much for the information on your site. I got Harry my wonderful T.T. baby on the 25th April 2005 he was then seven weeks old. Never having had a small dog before I was worried I would give him either to much or not enough food. In fact I was worried about every thing as he was so tiny !!!! Three months later I have the most fantastic black with a little bit of white on his chest boy you could ever wish to meet. Thank you again for all the help you have given me

                                              Harry and me (jeanette).

Thankyou Jeanette. Please visit our web site again xx
